Knit & Natter
Meeting on the third Monday of the month – East Stour Village Hall from 2:30pm
Knit and Natter meets at East Stour Village Hall on the third Monday of the month. We meet between 2:30 and 4:30 pm with tea, coffee and cake to speed the knitting and sewing needles!
Whether you’d just like some company and to knit some simple squares, or would like to learn how to make anything from beautiful baby clothes to creative jumpers, then you would be very welcome to join us.
We are currently knitting blankets for the local women’s refuge.
Stour Vale Singers – Community Choir
This new Community Choir will occasionally sing at Benefice Services:
The Stour Vale Singers has recently been formed within the benefice with a repertoire that includes both religious and non-religious music.
At the moment it is early days but it is envisaged that as well as being be asked to perform at a variety of social events throughout the benefice we would also take part in a range of church services as requested and when possible. We sing in harmony, usually with accompaniment and music reading skills whilst being desirable are by no means essential – enthusiasm and commitment (but not obligation) being far more important. At the time of writing, the choir meet on Tuesday afternoons from 2-4pm at West Stour Village Hall.

Kington Magna Ringers
Practice Night
We practice on 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, from 7.30pm – 9pm.
Sunday ringing
10.30am – 11am: 2nd Sunday of the month
10.30am – 11am: 4th Sunday of the month
Kington Magna has a keen group of ringers and welcomes new recruits. Visitors (ringers) are welcome to join us on practice night or for Sunday ringing or to visit Kington on an outing.

The Bells
Kington Magna possesses a fine ring of 5 bells, with the tenor weighing 14¾ cwt, which were restored in 2010 after much effort by the villagers and others over a number of years.
One time Vicar of Kington Magna, the Revd. Llewellyn Edwards, Vicar for 48 years, was also a keen bell ringer and Hon. secretary and treasurer of the Salisbury Diocesan Guild of Ringers for 37 years. When he died he left a bequest to the Guild which was the start of the Guild’s bell restoration fund, which is named after him. Due to the connection, Kington Magna received a particularly generous grant from the Guild towards the restoration.
